From 26 to 31 October 2025, the second FEA-VEE study visit was realized in Pforzheim, Germany. ITKAM and VDMD welcomed 60 students and emerging professionals from Bulgaria, Romania, Spain, Greece, and Sweden to explore the sustainable fashion and textile landscape in Germany. The group was joined by German students from local universities throughout the week, giving everyone the opportunity to forge new international connections and exchange perspectives.
Following the FEA-VEE approach of strengthening vocational training, promoting sustainable innovation, and encouraging collaboration between education, industry, and policy-making, the study visit combined visits to local companies (KM Modelle, Trigema) and institutions (universities in Sigmaringen, Pfprzheim jewellery museum, and EMMA cultural center) with workshops provided by VDMD on trends, AI, and digital pattern recognition in fashion and textiles.
The event’s concept of sustainability emphasized not only environmental but also social and economic dimensions, including sustainable supply chains, materials, recycling and upcycling of residual stocks, responsible production without surplus, fair treatment of employees, active engagement of end customers, and the sustainable use of AI in practice.
Pforzheim was selected as the host region due to its high concentration of fashion and textile companies, providing ideal conditions for educational visits.
